The East Bay Saturday Dialogues group has been offering educational workshops and building white anti-racist community in the San Francisco Bay Area since July 2008. This educational and community building work is done with the goal of co-creating alternatives to white racism that are positive and liberationist. Our organizing philosophy of white people working with other white people in anti-racism education and organizing is critical. We also believe that it is just one piece of anti-racism work, much of which must happen in multiracial alliances and relationships.
Our work is a part of a network of white anti-racist base building efforts to counteract subtle and organized white racism, and we act in solidarity with other racial justice groups. We are a part of the national project called “U.S. for All of Us.” We are affiliated with other Bay Area racial justice organizations, such as the Catalyst Project, as well as with AWARE-LA in Los Angeles. East Bay Saturday Dialogues is a volunteer-run project.
The leadership team works collaboratively to coordinate workshops, outreach and community action. The leadership team includes Corinne Allen, Nancy Arvold, Lisa Beard, April Schlenk (read bios).
